Artist Statement
Dara Campbell's creative process is motivated by her experiences and informed by the process itself.
One idea will grow into the next. An element or technique used in one piece will often inspire her next piece or body of work. "I take an intuitive approach to creating my compositions and rely on a combination of pencil and marker sketches, graphic writing, photographs, digital processes, adventure, and experience to inspire each work of art."
Bio
Dara Campbell's varied and fortunate career in the arts has enabled her to work and participate in fashion shows, magazines, catalog companies, ad agencies, benefits, fine art galleries, and commercials through her work as a dancer, model, makeup artist, studio manager, photographer, and artist. She has gained a deep and multilayered point of view that shows in every image she creates. In the past few years, she has started creating mixed-media art. "I’m exploring and enjoying the freedom, creativity, and excitement I gain from this new experience."
From her start as a model working with Elite Chicago, encircled by the most talented stylists and photographers in the field, to her current status as an artist. Feeling very lucky to do what she loves. She has lived and worked in St. Louis, Chicago, Miami, New York, and Los Angeles and is currently bi-coastal—spending time between LA and Hoboken.
